Project Background:

The aim of the contract is to enhance the US Air Force communication capacities by providing Advanced Extremely High Frequency (AEHF) satellites. The AEHF system provides secure communication at data speeds 10 times faster than the existing Milstar constellation.

Project Description:

US Air Force is planning to purchase two Advanced Extremely High Frequency satellites.

The Air Force is in discussion with Lockheed Martin for purchase of two high-tech communications satellites. The negotiations are expected to conclude in Q2 2012 and the Air Force plans to award a contract by the end of the fiscal year.

The contract is in planning stage. The project is valued at US$3,100 million.
