The aim of the contract is to provide AN/APS-153 Multi-Mode Radar Systems for the US Navy's H-60R multi-mission helicopter. The AN/APS-153 Multi-Mode Radar, with the advanced ARPDD mode, provides the US Navy with an unprecedented capability to perform their difficult and often dangerous missions.
The AN/APS-153 radar is the successor to the AN/APS-147, and includes Automatic Radar Periscope Detection and Discrimination (ARPDD) capability. It was designed to meet the Navy's demanding mission requirements, providing reliable maritime domain surveillance in all weather conditions, day or night.

These systems will be integrated into the Lockheed Martin advanced mission avionics package and installed on the US Navy’s MH-60R "Romeo" helicopter.
