The Boeing Company to provide risk reduction activities to the US Navy's P-8A Poseidon aircraft.

Project Description:

The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) has awarded a modification contract to Boeing to provide risk reduction activities associated with the P-8A Poseidon aircraft, Increment II.

The contract includes acoustic processor technology refresh work, multi-static active coherent Phase I capability, Automatic Identification System prototype development and high altitude anti-submarine warfare sensor capability.

The P-8A Poseidon is a long-range anti-submarine warfare, anti-surface warfare, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance aircraft.

The US$13.17 million contract was awarded in May 2012. It is expected to be completed in January 2013. The work will be undertaken at Anaheim, California.
