The US Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) awarded a firm-fixed price, cost-plus-fixed fee, cost-type contract to Northrop Grumman Corporation.
Under the terms of the contract, the contractor is responsible for the production proof of manufacturing/first articles, functional item replacement level components of the MK 54 mod 0 array kits, engineering services hours, hardware repair support, test equipment, additional spares and production support material, and warranty options.
The US$45.99 million contract was awarded in July 2013, including options which, if exercised, would bring the cumulative value of the contract to US$294.38 million.
Scheduled to be completed by July 2016, the work is being performed in Lititz, Pennsylvania; Annapolis, Maryland; and Santa Barbara, California.
The contract involves procurement for the US Navy and the governments of Australia, and Republic of India under a foreign military sales (FMS) programme.
